Job description


Coordinate the staff and functions of Registration & Student Records (UG and Honours) for specific faculties on Potchefstroom Campus.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.    Maintenance of student records
  • Coordinate and monitoring of the maintenance processes of student records (UG and Hons,contact on PC) for specific faculties. Including the capturing and auditing of graduates.
2.    Staff and facilities
  • Day to day coordination of staff and processes within Registration & Student Records for specific faculties.
3.    Yearly registration of student
  • Plan, organize and coordinate the yearly registration of students (online and counter registrations) together with the line manager and other stakeholders.
4.    Liaising with role players
  • Liaise and coordinate with internal and external role players, with regards to Registration and Student Records, Academic Record Inquiries and Filing section. Incumbent will be a designated functionary of correspondence to all role players within the registration and records process together with the line manager.
5.    Ad hoc
  •  Ad hoc tasks as instructed by Section Head / Senior Supevisor / Campus Director / Deputy Registrar and Registrar.
 

Minimum requirements

·         Diploma / Advanced Certificate (NQF 6) (Essential)
·         2  years’ Administrative experience in student academic life cycle environment in higher education (Essential)
·         2  years’ Knowledge of NWU student system (VSS), structure and policies (Desirable)

 
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Knowledge of, and experience in a student records office in an educational environment.
  • Basic knowledge and experience in staff and organizational management.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Functional language proficiency to function on management level.
  • High level of computer skills.

KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Good leadership skills
  • Assertiveness
  • Good interpersonal relationships
  • Must be able to take initiative in a mid-level leadership role

The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
