Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Teaching and learning

Minimum requirements

  •  Master’s degree with specialisation in Physical Sciences (Physics/Chemistry) and initial teachers’ qualification with Physical Sciences
  •  Four (4) years teaching experience at secondary school level, teaching Physical Science and/or Natural Sciences
 
RECOMMENDED COMPETENCIES:
  • Two (2) years teaching experience at tertiary level
 
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Fundamental Knowledge of Physical Sciences concepts to teach Physics, Chemistry, and Natural Sciences content modules for undergraduate B.Ed and Hons students;
  • Knowledge of dynamic teaching-learning technologies
  • Good computer skills in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
  • Use of blended learning environments, e.g. Internet and email
 
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
  • Good communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good planning skills
·       Ability to function in the multi-lingual and multi-cultural NWU work environment
