Job description

Responsibilities:
·        Performance modules - all aspects of the undergraduate and postgraduate performance modules at the School of Music and the research niche entity, MASARA
·        Concert administration – all aspects of concert administration, including NWU Concert Series, undergraduate and postgraduate concerts as well as, but not limited to recruitment concerts
·        MASARA administration – all administration of the research niche entity, MASARA.
·        Assets and Facilities – coordination of instruments, instrument hire and venues for ensemble rehearsals/performances
·     Ad Hoc tasks – Student administration, reception office, coordinate and manage general planning of conferences and meetings, assistance with certain organisational tasks regarding marketing and recruitment.

Minimum requirements:
·        A National Certificate
·        Proven ability in concert and / or postgraduate administration
·        Advanced Computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), e-mail and internet
·        Demonstration of language proficiency to function optimally in the various multilingual environments of the NWU
·        A valid code B driver’s licence for driving rental or fleet vehicles to events, including out-of-town events

Other competency requirements:
·        Knowledge of the university systems – KFS, VSS, IDU (recommendation)
·        Knowledge of the InfoEd system (recommendation)
·        Excellent interpersonal skills
·        Goal-oriented and systematic in her/his approach
·        A formal qualification in Music (recommendation)
·        Basic microphone/sound recording set-up skills (recommendation)
