Job description

1.    PROJECT COORDINATION
2.    DELEGATED PROJECT MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
3.    EFFECTIVE ALLOCATION AND UTILIZATION OF RESOURCES
4.    CONTINUOUS QUALITY CONTROL AND ASSURANCE
5.    OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH
6.    PROJECT ADMINISTRATION
7.    AD HOC DUTIES AS ASSIGNED FROM TIME TO TIME
 

Minimum requirements

·        Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Electronics or closest equivalent, is essential. (NQF 7)
·        Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in IT-Networks is desirable. (NQF 7)
·        Project Coordination or Project Management Higher Certificate or Diploma in Project Management is desirable. (NQF 6)
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
·        Fault finding on electronic, AV and IT systems
·        Handling coordination of- and managing risk related to projects
·        Interface IT infrastructure with other systems and electronic system integration
·        Resource analysis and application – People, technical, time and financial resources
·        Care for Operational Health and Safety during projects
·        Use financial knowledge and skills to make sound financial decisions on site
·        Fully computer literate, able to handle Microsoft and other software
·        Understand basics of security systems such as access control, fire systems, CCTV etc.
·        Understand basics of AV and audio / video conference systems
·        Ability to influence contractors, staff and end-users positively

EXPERIENCE:
·        3 years in Project management / coordination principles is essential.
·        3 years in Electronics is essential.
·        3 years in Safety Principles (Files and working methods) is essential.
·        2 years in AV environment is essential.
·        2 years in Fire detection and systems is desirable.
·        2 years in IT is desirable.
·        2 years in Basic programming is desirable
 
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
