Job description
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Involved in teaching and learning (undergraduate and post-graduate programmes); research which fits into the faculty’s focus areas; post-graduate supervision (where applicable); community service and tasks which relates to all above activities

Minimum requirements
Qualification
- LLB.
- An LLM in any field in law.
- Admission as an attorney or an advocate
Experience/s
- Experience in Publications in accredited journals.
- Proven record of effective post-graduate supervision.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in academia (Lecturer). OR
- Minimum of 3 years post-admission experience in practice as an Attorney or Advocate.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Preference will be given to candidates with expertise concerning teaching-learning and research in any of the following subject fields: Law of Delict/ Constitutional Law/Statutory Interpretation. However, candidates with expertise in any other field will also be considered.
- Legal language skills.
- Computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), as well as email, Internet and the electronic retrieval of legal sources.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written).
- Language skills in order to function optimally in the different multilingual environments of the NWU.
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
- Good interpersonal relations
- The ability to work with large groups of people
- The ability to accommodate multiculturalism
