position of Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in the fields of:
• Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Applications o SDN Traffic Enhancement & Engineering
o SDN for Internet of Things (IoT) & 5 G Mobile Network
o Quality of Service in SDN
o SDN in Wireless Sensor Networks
o Load Balancing, Resource Maintenance, Multimedia Communication
o Artificial Intelligence enabled SDN
o Mult-Domain SDN, Hierarchical, Distributed Hybrid SDN Controllers
o SDN in Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks
• ICT and Interdisciplinary o Smart Networks and Energy Efficiency
o Software Engineering
o Blockchain Technology & Applications
o IoT Security and Privacy
o Machine Learning
o Etc.
Job description
• Study the specific research topic as negotiated with the host scientist.
• Play an active role as an investigator in all aspects of the research project.
• Lead author of at least 3 papers per annum published in international accredited peer-review journals.
• Assist in capacity development at the NWU- through active interaction, co-supervision and collaboration with post-graduate students and interns.
Minimum requirements
• A PhD degree in a relevant discipline that was obtained in the five years prior to submitting this application (applications from PhD candidates in the final year of their PhD may be considered, but no appointment can be made without written confirmation of a completed PhD).
• Strong written and oral communication skills with a minimum of 3 ISI rated publications in a relevant discipline as well as presentations at various national and international conferences.
• Physical ability to conduct research.
• Ability to work independently.
• Valid driver’s License.
