To handle queries regarding residence placements.
Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.    Financial and Operational Administration
·        Handle cancellations for residences.
·        Check cleaning supplies for the residences monthly.
·        Ensure reconciliations of residences quarterly.
·        Handle deposits of residences.
·        Monitor accommodation statistics monthly.
·        Ensure successful placements for all residences.
·        Verify corridor lists three times a year.
2.    Residence Operations
·        Placement of prospective first years and senior students.
·        Ensure smooth transfers between residences.
·        Handle placement cards of first years and senior students.
3.    Office Administration
·        Provide continuous training on administrative procedures to residence officers.
·        Do necessary typing and filing.
·        Use VSS to check placements.
·        Ensure continuous communication with head and staff of International Office regarding international students.
·        Perform ad hoc duties as required.
4.    Assistance and Availability to Supervisors and Students
·        Ensure availability to students in case of operational challenges of the residence.
·        Attend residence management meetings.
      
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.

Minimum requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
·        Grade 12 with accounting as a subject.
·        Two (2) years’ relevant working experience.
 
KEY FUNCTIONAL / TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
·        Good computer skills in MS Excel, Word, use of e-mails and internet.
·        Good organisation and administrative skills
·        Experience with reconciliations.

KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
·        Good communication (verbal & written) skills in Afrikaans and English.
·        Ability to function well under pressure.
·        Good management skills and ability to maintain discipline.
