Minimum requirements

·A LLB (Bachelor of Laws) qualification or BA (Bachelor of Arts) in languages preferably in English is essential  
·An LLM in any field in law or an Honours / Master’s Degree in Languages (Preferably English) is desirable
·Admission as an attorney or advocate is desirable or this specific position
 
 EXPERIENCE:

Publications in accredited journals experience is desirable for this position
Proven record of effective post-graduate supervision experience is desirable for this position
 
FUNCTIONAL / TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS):

·Preference will be given to candidates with expertise concerning teaching-learning and research in any of the following subject fields: Teaching Language Modules (English) to Law students. However, candidates with experience in teaching languages to students other than Law Students will also be considered. 
·Legal language skills
·Computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), as well as email, Internet and the electronic retrieval of legal sources.
·Good communication skills (verbal and written)
·Language skills in order to function optimally in the different multilingual environments of the NWU.

BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:

·The ability to work with large groups of people
·Good interpersonal relations
·The ability to accommodate multiculturalism

The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
