Job description
Responsible for the management and execution of quality processes
· Liaise with managers about all quality matters at the UODL
· Develop and update the Quality Manual annually
· Coordinate all Process Manuals for all the sections at the UODL
· Ensure the implementation of the NWU Quality Policy
· Oversee Record Management
· Risk Management
2. Liaise with role players concerning quality affairs
· Liaise with the NWU Quality Enhancement office
· Liaise with Faculties
· Liaise with Centre for Teaching and Learning
3. Manage, develop and implement operational research
· Develop questionnaires
· Manage surveys
· Analyse data
· Report about data
· Visit all Open Distance Learning centres, whether UODL Learning Support Centres or UODL Examination Centres
4. Plan and take part in internal and external quality audits and evaluations
· Liaise with and assist Faculties during internal and external evaluations
· Liaise with NWU Internal Audit office about all audits
5. Plan and implement evaluation activities.
· Plan and implement internal self-evaluation
· Plan and implement external evaluations
6. Write reports
· Write operational research reports
· Write the annual quality report
Minimum requirements
Bachelor Honours Degree is essential (NQF Level 8)
· Experience/s
Ø 5 years of experience in higher education sector.
ADDED ADVANTAGE & PREFERENCES:
· Master’s Degree will be a recommendation.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
· Experience in quality assurance in Higher Education environment
· Experience in interpretation of education policy
· Experience in qualitative and quantitative research
· Experience in writing research reports
· Written and spoken language skills in at least Afrikaans and English (3rd language a recommendation)
· Efficient computer skills
· Proven experience in research
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
· Excellent communication skills, ability to provide guidance in higher education environment
· Good listening ability and relationship with colleagues
· Able to function in a team
· Good conflict handling skills
· Ability to function under pressure
· Prepared to travel and work after hours
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
