Back-office assistance to Manager and sub-division of Student Accounts on Vanderbijlpark Campus with administration of NSFAS allowances and cash payments to students and landlords
Job description

Key Responsibilities:
1.   Administration of Allowance (NSFAS and other cash awarding bursaries)
·         Compiling of allowance templates
·         Maintaining template as students register / cancel / change bursary funding
·         Compile secondary reports to update allowance and landlord templates
·         Control allowance charges on student accounts
·         Submit allowance payment files
·         Assist with all allowance enquiries
2.   Oversee and Coordinate Administration of Private Accommodation
·         Oversee application for private accommodation process, and establishment of master payment database
·         Regularly review if funding of students is still active and liaise on changes in funding
·         Initiate and coordinate the process of quarterly reconciliations between NWU and Landlords
·         Sign off and authorise quarterly payments
3.   Reconciliations
·         Reconcile student totals on master payment sheets before processing payments
·         Resolve reconciling items on monthly control accounts as prepared by the Assistant Accountant
4.   Records Management
·         Ensure department records management is implemented according to NWU Records Management System. (Implement, monitor and guide)
5.   Ad Hoc
·         Assist with all reasonable and ad hoc tasks that might surface in the line of duty in the Student Accounts and Bursaries Department

Minimum requirements

·         BCom Degree (NQF7) or Diploma (NQF6) (essential)
·         Post Matric Qualification should include finance modules (essential)
·         2 years proven experience in Advanced Microsoft Office (essential)
·         2 years’ experience on payments and reconciliations (desirable)

·         Numerical competent and accurate with attention to detail
·         Computer literate: MS Office products, internet and e-mail
·         Analytical and problem-solving ability
·         Punctual

The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
