Job description

1. Teaching and Learning


Facilitation of Teaching and Learning activities of the undergraduate programme. Support with Teaching and Learning of research module in Masters and PhD research. Participate in curriculum development, implementation and evaluation of undergraduate programmes. Coaching and mentoring in clinical nursing health fields

2. Community Engagement

Leading in community engagement and development of projects to the benefit of community health and nursing service
delivery.

3. Research and innovation

Take responsibility Postgraduate supervision (Masters & PhDs) Update and develop research methodology course work for
masters. Support and lead the enhancement of publications for a developing research staff compliment. Innovatively transform the research practice within the School. Conduct own Postgraduate studies.

4. Leadership

Lead students and support personnel in Undergraduate Teaching and Learning Support and assist with nursing/health clinical programmes.

5. Ad-hoc tasks

Participate in School committees and external committees affiliated to the School.

Minimum requirements

·         PhD in Nursing  NQF Level 10 is essential
·         Master’s Degree in Nursing is essential
·         Educational qualification (e.g. nursing education ) is essential
·         Clinical Specialization in General nursing.
·         Accreditations South African Nursing Council is essential
·         Registrations SANC as nurse educator and midwife is essential
 
EXPERIENCE
·         3 years’ experience in Facilitation of teaching and learning /and Postgraduate supervision is essential
·         4-7 years’ experience in Clinical Nursing  is desirable 
·         3-5 years’  experience in Higher Education Teaching is essential
