KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
·       Clinical Nursing Experience
·       WISL Programme
·       Logistical management
·       Experience in the use of Excel, Word and other computer programmes
 
KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
·       Sound interpersonal and intercultural skills.
·       Attention to detail and sound management of large datasets with regard to clinical placement
 

Minimum requirements

Qualifications
·        B degree in Nursing
·       Valid code B drivers licence
·       Computer skills (MS office, email, internet and programme development)
 
Experiences
·       3 years’ experience in Clinical Nursing Experience is essential 

PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOINT ACCOUNTABILITIES
 
Liaison with Department of Health NW
·       Application of final year students for Community service
·       Liaison with different Department of Health regarding placement of
·       Final year students for Community service.
·       Communicating with students regarding Community service.
·       Assisting students with completing forms for applications for
·       Community Service.
 
First year registration
·       Assisting students on first day of registration regarding the completion of forms.
·       Explaining Indemnity to the students and the benefits of various Insurers.
·       Assisting students with the application for membership with Indemnity Insurers
·       In-service training for students regarding the completion of hour list forms.
 
Indemnity
·       Coordination of indemnity insurance of all year groups.
 
SARS
·       Arranging for first year student application with the South African Revenue Service as required by law for all students who receive a bursary
 
Incidents
·       Completing statistics regarding injuries on duty of students.
 
Transcript of training for previous students who wish to work in other countries
·       Processing of application from International Agencies for previous students of SONS who wish to work in foreign countries
·       Follow-up and giving feedback to applicants
·       Ensuring security of documents
·       Sending documents per courier to the various agencies.
·       Arranging payment to the University
 
Phelophepa train
·       Coordination of Phelophepa train (placement of students and arrangements) in collaboration with subject head of community nursing.
 
International Students
·       Coordination with International Universities for exchange of students to and from SONS.
·       Assisting with applications of students wishing to take part in the exchange programme from SONS to International Universities.
·       Informing SANC of the students who will be in the exchange programme to International Universities.
·       Arranging accommodation and transport for students from International Universities visiting SONS on the exchange programme.
·       Arranging Indemnity for these students.
·       Arranging registration with SANC for these students from International Universities.
·       Arranging orientation of the students from International Universities at SONS, NWU and clinical facilities where they will be placed.
·       Arranging an outing of sightseeing to a place of interest for the visiting students.
·       Assistance with arrangements of lecturers from International Universities when visiting SONS.
